FAQs

What is Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates is a form of exercise that uses a specialised machine called a reformer, which consists of a sliding carriage, adjustable springs, straps, and pulleys. These components allow you to move with controlled resistance, making each exercise both challenging and supportive.

I’ve never done Pilates before — will I fit in?

Yes! Roe Reformer is a space for everyone, whether you’re completely new to Pilates or an experienced practitioner. Our sessions are designed to meet you where you are, with gentle guidance, clear instruction, and options to suit every level. You’ll move at your own pace, learning how to engage your muscles safely, improve your alignment, and feel confident on the reformer from your very first class.
Pilates isn’t about being perfect, it’s about exploring your body, building strength, and enjoying the process. At Roe Reformer, you’ll find a supportive and welcoming community, where everyone belongs.

What should I wear and bring to class?

Wear comfortable workout clothes that allow for movement. Grip socks are required for hygiene and safety. If you forget your grip socks, they are available to purchase in the studio. We provide all necessary equipment, but you’re welcome to bring a water bottle and a towel for your own comfort.

How do I book a class?

You can book classes directly through our website. Simply create an account, purchase credits, then view the schedule to reserve your spot. Early booking is recommended as classes fill up quickly. Our schedule is always available to book two weeks in advance.

Can I attend if I’m pregnant?

We are aiming to offer prenatal classes soon. Feel free to send us a DM on Instagram if you have any questions before then.

How often should I do reformer Pilates for results?

For the best results, we recommend practicing Reformer Pilates 2–3 times per week. This frequency helps build strength, improve flexibility, and develop better posture while allowing your body time to recover and adapt.

As Joseph Pilates famously said:

“In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 you’ll see the difference, and in 30 you’ll have a whole new body.”

Consistency is key. Whether your goal is toning, injury prevention, or general wellness, regular sessions will help you progress safely and effectively

What’s the difference between reformer Pilates and mat Pilates?

Mat Pilates uses your body weight for resistance and is typically done on the floor. Reformer Pilates uses a spring-loaded machine to provide adjustable resistance, allowing for a wider range of motion, greater challenge, and more support depending on your level.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule a class??

We have a 12-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel at least 12-hours before the class, your credit will be returned to your account. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in the loss of the session credit.

Where are you located and is there parking available?

We’re located at Unit 6, 16B Windyhill Retail Park, Limavady. Free parking is available on-site.
